Yvonne Fincham

Counsellor

My approach is rooted in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that being able to show up as yourself, without needing to perform, please others or have everything figured out, can make room for a different kind of understanding.

I'm a qualified integrative therapist offering a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental approach to therapy. Working integratively means drawing on different therapeutic ideas and ways of working, shaped around you rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. I work with curiosity and compassion, helping you notice familiar patterns, explore your thoughts and feelings, and consider things from a different perspective. I also believe therapy can involve gentle challenge, creating opportunities to see yourself and your relationships in new ways.

I work with adults who want to make sense of themselves, their relationships or the experiences that have shaped them. You might have a clear idea of what you'd like to explore, or you might simply know that something doesn't feel quite right. You don't need to have all the answers before beginning therapy.

I hold a First Class BA (Hons) in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship from the University of Warwick and continue to develop my practice through ongoing learning, supervision and reflection. Through Staying Connected Therapy, I offer an opportunity to slow things down, explore what matters to you and begin to understand yourself a little differently, at your own pace.
